Our Mission

Creating meaningful connections between current and future industry leaders to encourage growth in the business of sustainability

SSBC 2020

"Driving positive change on environmental & climate impact through business."

Scope

Sustainability has quickly manifested into one of the most impactful aspects of any successful company. It has led to distinguished leadership in profitability, corporate governance, ethics, and philanthropy. As Net Impact, we see our role as students to inspire and lead others to develop their knowledge base in sustainable and responsible business practices. This is why we have created the Student Sustainable Business Conference (“SSBC”), which will unify students and professionals in an educational network to learn, communicate, and share ideas.

Leadership

The conference will feature a keynote speaker who has championed sustainability throughout their career. They embody the same principles and motives of Net Impact and the Smeal College of Business in their mission to promote these ideals. Representatives from your company will be able to attend.

Professional Development

Following the keynote speaker, we invite you to host a Break-Out session with students. Here you will have the opportunity to present your company’s mission and values, as well as your own experiences in the area of sustainability. Alternatively, you can participate in a panel discussion around a topic relating to this year's theme of climate impact. These sessions will be both informational and interactive, engaging the minds of your audience - Penn State students across all majors. This is an opportunity for you to showcase your success and leave a lasting impression on students eager to build relationships, connect classroom to reality, and learn more about revolutionary business leaders.

Together, the Net Impact, Penn State, and the SSBC team thanks you for your interest in the Student Sustainable Business Conference and we look forward to hearing from you.
